For this week’s interview I got the pleasure to interview Oumar. Oumar Kamara is a second year at Cal State Long Beach and is an International Business major. He was born in Queens, New York. He lived in New York for eight years and moved to a country called Senegal for seven years. There he learned more about his roots and then moved back to the U.S, but this time to California. Oumar enjoys getting to meet new people and learning new things about the diverse cultures. He’s encountered many different experiences. ANother cool fact is that, he is multilingual! He speaks English, French, and a West African dialect called Wolof. This is his fourth year in California and he says he really likes living in this state. One of his goals is to get a beach house one day in California because he loves the weather here.
This is why he chose his major, International business, because he felt he would have an advantage in this field. He hopes to travel abroad in order to strengthen his understanding and also gain more experience of the world. He hopes that his time at CSULB will be put to good use so he can accomplish his dreams.
Oumar hopes he can use everything he’s learned to reach his success. He’s a very easy going person and I’m glad we met in art 110. He’ll thrive and succeed in anything he tries to pursue.
